PerformanceIntroduction
Sony introduced a revamped trio of MiniDV camcorders at this year’s Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas, including the DCR-HC48. Replacing last year’s DCR-HC46, it will be placed just under the DCR-HC96, which is being carried over from last year to lead the product line. Our full review of the HC46 might have been summed up with this quote: "Not too skimpy on features, and certainly not too heavy on the features, either." With nearly identical specs and the odd improvement here and there, the 2007 model should offer the same journeyman performance we found in last year’s camcorder at an MSRP of just $400, a full $100 less than the HC46’s initial price.
