Sony’s new entry-level HDD camcorder, the DCR-SR40, made its debut this fall in a crowded market, with media, video standards, and manufacturers vying for consumers’ attention. It’s a market in flux, as HD video becomes an affordable option for the masses and convenience-oriented formats like HDD (hard disc drive) grow in popularity.
