With its Full Frame image sensor, the NEX-VG900 can also function as a superb still image camera as well as a video camcorder. The model has the ability to capture 24-megapixel stills in the RAW or JPEG format. Essentially, this camcorder has the same guts as Sony's Full Frame Alpha cameras (like the A900 or the new A99), although its design is clearly not meant for taking still images. The amount of controls available to you as a photographer on the V900 are also limited compared to what you'd get on a dedicated photo DSLR.
