The Flip: Inexpensive quick YouTube videos

Posted by Emily Price

Here at CamcorderInfo we're not usually huge fans of low quality devices that claim to be camcorders. The Flip though got our attention. The $120 camcorder comes in 512MB and 1GB versions that will record 30 or 60 minutes of low-quality video respectively.

What makes Flip different is what you do after you record your video. The camcorder is designed specifically with web video in mind and has a USB plug that "flips" out to be plugged into your computer so you can instantly upload video. The Flip has onboard software to let you edit video and then has a YouTube video upload option onm the same interface.

We haven't seen The Flip in action. If it's anything like similar camcorders the video is likely to be pretty bad, but it's a decent idea for some inexpensive quick and easy YouTube goodness.
