Daily Motion launches new channels: DailyMotion has launched new video channels. New channels on the site include Gay Lesbian, Life and Style, College, and Latino.
Sony to launch new video service is Japan: Sony is set to launch a new video service in Japan on March 31. The site called brando will offer free video content to users in Japan on the NTT network. The service will have six channels and will have a special “chat function” for users to discuss video they watch.
Viddyou adds HD video: For a fee Viddyou will now support 720p HD and 1080p HD.
Mefeedia adds investors: Mefeedia, a site previously self-funded now has over $250,000 in unnamed investors. The video sharing site plans to put the money into improving the sites infrastructure and has launched a new video search engine.
Oprah's web series gaining popularity: Oprah's web series reportedly has received close to 180,000 viewers in the past three weeks
Sundace channel may be up for sale: Word on the street is that the Sundance channel is up for sale. Going price is expected to be close to $400 million.
