Two Hundred Dollar Price Drop on Canon HG10

Posted by David Kender

Canon has just announced a $200 price drop on the HG10 camcorder. This hard disk drive AVCHD camcorder, which debuted at $1299, will now sell for $1099. We loved the HG10 in our testing, and found it to perform better than any AVCHD camcorder to date. Of course, the footage is still virtually impossible to work with, which is the biggest red flag we can think of before buying a camcorder. Also, the 24P mode failed to deliver. It's no HV20, but it's a promise of better things to come. With the extra $200 in your pocket, maybe you could purchase enough RAM to actually edit your video.
