Verbatim Announces Archival DVD Media

Posted by Richard Baguley

Hot on the heels of Delkin’s announcement of archive-quality recordable DVDs, Verbatim has just announced their new Archival Grade DVD-R media. The new discs, which will be available in the second quarter of 2006, use Verbatim’s VideoGard protective coating technology, which they claim precents against both scratching. The discs also have two reflective layers, which Verbatim claim protects against oxidation (where the reflective layer that holds the data effectively rusts). No pricing information has been released yet.
