February 9, 2006 - This week Serious Magic announced the release of Vlog It!, a software designed for bloggers to capture, edit, and upload video to their daily ramblings. Aimed at re-creating the look of broadcast-style journalism, the software will include options for titles, graphics, lower-thirds, backgrounds, and a teleprompter.
Mark Randall, president and “Chief Magician” at Serious Magic, stated that “Vlog It adds a new dimension by letting bloggers share sights and sounds – instead of just text – with audiences.”
Traditional text and photo-based blogs have long since found a home on the net. Video blogging is hardly a new phenomenon either, with thousands of video posts appearing each day on Vidblogs.com, Vlogdir.com, and other hosting and directory sites.

Serious Magic, which also produces software for professional video production, keying, and communication, has included features on Vlog It! that help low-budget bloggers achieve a little more polish. TV-style transitions and sound-effects, photo drag-and-drop, live webcam recording, and an on-screen teleprompter are all available, as well as tools for capture, compression, and uploading.
“We expect bloggers to create personalized mini documentaries, video diaries, news shows, reality-TV shows – and even entirely new show formats,” said Randall.
Vlog It! is available for immediate download or purchase at the Serious Magic website and at retail locations for US$49.95. Free trials of the software can also be found here.

multi-track timelines, but it might get the job done. At bottom, some of the pre-installed video clips.
