Rtravel, a new travel networking site, is hosting an online travel video competition in which the winners could earn up to a grand in cash. The UK start-up company hosts is a free video-sharing site that is dedicated to young people that like to travel; users can view and upload their own movies. Users can also post profiles, still photos, and blogs about their vacations. There is also a travel services section for promotions on restaurants and hotels.

 

The grand prize for the Rtravel video competition is $1,000. Second prize is $300, and third prize is $100. Members have until Jan. 31, 2008 to enter their videos. All videos uploaded after Nov. 1, 2007 will be entered into the contest automatically.

 

Other niche travel video sites include Travelistic, TravelerVideos, and YouTube’s Travel & Events category.
