YouTube adds boatload of APIs

Posted by Karen M Cheung

YouTubeThe people at YouTube have been pulling some all-nighters to add compatibility across more desktop applications, games, phones, TVs, and cameras, according to today’s company blog. YouTube added new APIs that will allow third parties to develop services with more uploading features, metadata, feeds, and customizable players. YouTube cites recent examples:
- adding user-generated gaming characters with Electronic Arts
- automatic uploading and viewing lectures at University of California
- making professional music videos with Animoto
- watching YouTube viewers on the television set with Tivo
This opens up the door of possibility, as YouTube continues to take over the world.
