Adobe Announces New Version 5.5 of After Effects

Adobe Systems, which makes video editing and photographic tools has announced a new version of it's popular composition and visual effects program, Adobe After Effects 5.5.

The upgraded version includes added support of Mac OS 10 and Windows XP. Added in the new version is the ability to output in RealMedia format, import 3D camera data from Alias|Wavefront Maya and 3ds Max. The program also includes additional 16-bit per channel color file support including Maya IFF, RPF and QuickTime. YOu can also purchase After Effects in a special production bundle, which includes Adobe Premiere and Photoshop. Included in the special bundle is Illustrator Zaxwerks 3D Invigorator Classic which allows users to turn 2D artwork into 3D elements without leaving the After Effects environment.

The new version is offered as a full program and as an upgrade for existing After Effects 5.0 customers. The full version has an estimated street price of $649 and the upgrade has an estimated street price of $99. The special production bundle has an estimated street price of $1,999, with the standard production bundle costs $1,199.
