According to Avid, Symphony 4.7 for the Mac with offer real-time 10-bit DVE, Ultimatte keying and color correction. (Symphony's real-time color correction is new to both Mac and WIndows platforms.) It also supports 29.976 FPS projects for all Media Composer systems and new MetaSync technology for synchronizing metadata with audio and video content.
Through March 28, the new Symphony 4.7 systems will sell for 22 percent off the regular price of $90,000. Film Composer XL 11.7 will start at $53,000. Media Composer 11.7 will start at $12,000. Avid Xpress 5.7 will start at $5,999. Avid says all of the systems should be available this quarter. Upgrade pricing and further details will be announced at the time of the release.
