Canopus Corporation has released a new product for realtime editing, DVStorm2 Pro+. The main feature of the DVStorm2 Pro+ is its ability to perform infinite video tracks, filters, and title and graphics layers at the same time. This feature is due to Canopus’ proprietary scalable video architecture, developed in 1998. The Scalable Video Technology ensures that DVStorm2 Pro+ can expand its editing capabilities as advancements in CPU power continue to increase. This adds to the shelf life of the DVStorm2 Pro+. In addition to the infinite video filters and tracks, DVStorm2 Pro+ has many other features. These include 3D picture-in-picture transition, hundreds of settings for high-quality 2D, 3D and alpha transitions groups, realtime chroma and luma keying.

DVStorm2 Pro+ also includes several EDIUS and Adobe® Premiere® plug-ins. Included in the DVStorm2 Pro+ bundle are several hardware accessories. StormEncoder is DVStorm2 Pro+’s MPEG-1 or MPEG-2 encoding hardware. StormEncoder can capture MPEGs from DV or analog sources and encode them in realtime. Ready for authoring presets for VCD, SVCD and DVD make for quick transitions. DVStorm2 Pro+ also includes a component video output connector. This component connects to BetaCam decks and broadcast monitors. The requisite cables and bi-lingual user manuals are also included.

The DVStorm2 Pro+ package comes complete with an impressive array of software. Included are Premiere Pro, After Effects 6.0, Audition, Encore DVD all from Adobe. Also included is Xplode for DVStorm, EDIUS LE, MPEGcraft LE and Ulead’s DVD Workshop SE and COOL 3D Production Studio SE round out the software offerings.
