From the company that was first to introduce affordable, disk-based recording for DV professionals and enthusiasts comes the newest member of the FireStore family, the FS-3.
Featuring DTE™ (direct-to-edit) technology, the FS-3 allows videographers to record – via Firewire™ - directly to its standard 40 Gigabyte hard drive in any of the most popular non-linear editing formats available today, including Avid DV-OMF, QuickTime, AVI 2, Canopus AVI, Matrox AVI and more, eliminating the need to capture for editing after a shoot.
Weighing in at almost two pounds, the FS-3 connects directly to professional DV camcorders from JVC, Panasonic, Ikegami, Canon and Sony, by using the camera’s battery mount. Attachment of the FS-3 to smaller camcorders is supported by use of an off-the-shelf battery mount adapter.
The FireStore FS-3 will be available later this summer through Focus Enhancements’ authorized dealers. Additional removable drives will also be available in capacities ranging from 40GB to 80GB. For more information, visit www.focusinfo.com.
