Heuris and JVC Professional Products have released the Mac OS X based, Pro Indie HD Toolkit, a software suite for capturing, recording and encoding HD footage. The software includes transfer tools for JVC's JY-HD10U and GR-HD1 cameras.
Pro Indie Toolkit includes XtractorHDV, for transferring video and audio from JVC's HD cameras to the Mac desktop through a FireWire interface. Working seamlessly with Apple's Final Cut Pro, Pro Indie Toolkit simplifies the process of importing native HDV footage. The software suite also includes XtoHD, a utility for playback of an HD file through a DVHS deck with FireWire connectivity.
Pro Indie HD Toolkit can also be used to record footage to a DVHS tape, and includes MPEG Power Professional-DTVHD, which reads QuickTime, AVI and OMF formats and outputs in HDTV resolution (1080i or 720p) at 19.2 Mbps.
