Laird Telemedia has announced the Capdiv DV to Disk Recorder. The small sized recorder which fits in the palm of your hand can record up to 4.5 hours of DV video to it's internal hard drive, totally independent of a computer.

The recorder includes an internal hard drive which allows it to operate exactly like a VCR. The device includes record, play, and pause buttons. Once video is recorded to the device, it can function as a hard drive and operate in a normal editing environment.

The Capdiv comes in two models. The 3.5 hour model retails for $1,295, while the 4.5 hour model retails for $1,595.
