Microsoft Corp. has announced a new version of it's simple video editing software, Movie Maker 2. The program is designed to make video editing simple and fast. Movie Maker 2 will be included for free with the Windows XP operating system.

Movie Maker 2 includes basic video editing features such as transitions, titles, and other editing features. The program also includes many output options such as output for the web and DVD burning.

The program can capture video through Firewire. With Movie Maker 2 Microsoft is making another pitch at simple consumer video editing market, trying to compete with products such as Videostudio, Videowave and other inexpensive simple video editing programs designed to make the editing process simpler.
