Today is the official start of the holiday shopping season, and with it comes lots of sales by the national consumer electronics retailers. Both major national retailers and web sites are offering a variety of deals as well as discounts on camcorders and other products that will save you money.

Circuit City Circuit City is offering free shipping through their web site. Plus they are offering extended No-Hassle returns through January 31st which means returning your products will be easier. Circuit City is offering two special deals on camcorders. The first is the Sony CCD-TRV108 which they are offering for $299. The second is a clearance on the JVC GR-DVL120U which they are offering for $388.99, a very good price.

Best Buy Currently on their web site, Best Buy is offering free shipping on all orders. Best Buy is offering a deal on the Panasonic PV-DV52 for $404.99, also a pretty good price.

Amazon.com Amazon.com is offering a great, straight forward rebate offer. On all camcorders purchased over $999, Amazon.com is offering a $1000 rebate. On all camcorders purchased from $699 to $998 you get a $75 rebate. That's a pretty good deal when you combine it with Amazon's fairly reasonable prices. Plus, if you buy a camcorder over $299, you get a free Samsonite camcorder bag.

Sears Sears is offering the JVC GR-DVL820U for $799.88 and the Samsung SCD67 for $399.98.

Also don't forget there are many smaller sized but reputable independent small to medium sized camcorder retailers available. You can find many by using our price comparison feature. Generally, these camcorders are trustworthy but it's always good to see how the Better Business Bureau and how other consumers rate them before you buy.
