MainConcept announced it would retire MainActor 3.65 on October 31, 2002, but would continue to offer support for the product for a reasonable amount of time. During the remainder of October, it will be available at the special closeout price of US$59 on MainConcept's website at www.mainconcept.com. Existing v3.65 customers will also be able to upgrade to the new MainActor at a discount. Then it will be removed from the product line in preparation for the scheduled December release of MainActor v5 - a completely new, enhanced version.

MainActor first appeared as an Amiga program in 1993. It went on to become Amiga magazine's product of the year in 1995. An OS/2 version was next, followed in recent years by Linux and Windows versions.

MainActor v5 will include MainActor v3.65's most popular qualities in a dynamic new interface with many additional features. It is a completely new program, specially optimized for today's computers. It is so dramatically different that it skips a version number - from v3.65 to v5. Information and a free public beta version are available on MainConcept's website at www.mainconcept.com.
