Square Box ships CatDV3

CatDV 3.0 offers automatic logging of DV footage, metadata support, use of previews when the original movies are offline, searching and printing capabilities, and support for media types other than video.

New features include:

  • Timecode calculator;
  • Drag and drop support;
  • Two grouping levels;
  • Extra buffering;
  • Searching for clips across multiple catalogs;
  • Stability and performance fixes;
  • New toolbar buttons to split and merge clips;
  • Printing enhancements;
  • User interface improvements;
  • Improved entry of picklist values;
  • New columns to display metadata;
  • Display of Exif details in the Exposure field;
  • Improvements to movie export;
  • Improved management of media files.

To use CatDV 2.5 or Pro 3.0. a Pentium-based PC with at least 128Mb of memory and the following software is required:
Windows 98SE, NT, 2000, or XP
QuickTime 5.0 or later
QuickTime for Java
Java (JRE 1.3.1 recommended, not currently compatible with 1.4!)

Macintosh (OS X)
Any system running OS X 10.1 or 10.2 will meet the requirements for CatDV 2.5 or CatDV Pro 3.0. (If you are using 10.1 you should obtain Java 1.3.1 Update1 via Software Update.)

Macintosh (OS 8/9)
To use CatDV you need a G3 or G4 PowerMac with at least 128Mb of memory and the following software:
* Mac OS 8.6 or later
* QuickTime 5.0 or later
* MRJ 2.2 or later
* QuickTime for Java
