Today Panasonic announced pricing and availablity on their highly anticipated camcorder, the AG-DVX100. The AG-DVX100 is the first consumer level camcorder to produce 24 frame progressive video.
Pansonic announced that the camcorder would in introduced on October 10th with an MSRP of $3795, although it can be expected that the camcorder will sell for a much lower street price.
The AG-DVX100 is the first consumer camcorder to be able to shoot true 24 frame progressive video, which is the same framerate and "style" of film. The camcorder includes CineSwitch technology which can film at normal NTSC, cinema-style 24fps progressive and 30 frame progressive. The AG-DVX100 includes three, newly developed 1/3 in. 410K pixel CCDs.
