Panasonic Announces Media Storage

Panasonic, the ''father'' of Secure Digital media storage, will launch a new product to expand image storage capabilities for digital camcorder owners.

The Panasonic SV-PT1 SD Media Storage device features a 5GB hard disk and has USB connectivity.

Panasonic's specifications for the new device indicate storage equivalent to approximately seventy 64MB memory cards, direct video out to TV and back up mode. Playback functions include Image Playback, Thumbnail Display (4 x 6 display), Album Display (6 or 9 images display), Slide Show (automatic display), Rotation, Enlargement (2x, 4x)and Presentation.

The SV-PT1 is expected to retail for $599.95 when available.
