Panasonic has announced a new two part camcorder digital camera with an MSRP of $1657. Unlike previous camcorders with digital still capability the company has announced that the still part of the camera can be detached from the camcorder part to take digital stills. The MiniDV camcorder will save the stills on the SD removable memory format.
The camcorder will be released in Japan by September 1st and in the US by the spring. The camcorder also supports the BlueTooth technologoy. BlueTooth allows devices to transfer picture, video, or any data to each other if they are 30 feet or closer, through wireless RF networking. The company did not give further details about the camcorder.
