Panasonic has announced a new DVD recording camcorder at the Consumer Electronics Show (CES) 2003. The new VDR-M30 can record onto DVD-RAM and DVD-R discs and will be available for an MSRP of $899.00
Panasonic is working to break the price barrier with this being the least expensive DVD recording camcorder on the market today. The VDR-M30 replaces the VDR-M20 which carrier a $100 higher price tag.
The Panasonic press information says that the camcorder can record up to 120 minutes of digital video and 1,998 still images to DVD media. Quoting the press release:''Panasonic’s Hybrid VBR (variable bit rate) technology brings the excitement of DVD recording to this sleek, compact camcorder. Recorded video and still images can be saved onto 8cm 1.46GB DVD media. Additionally, still images can be recorded onto an SD Memory Card.''
The camcorder includes a 2.5 in. LCD screen and features which allow video editing in the camcorder. You can delete or trim existing recorded scenes from within the camcorder. The camcorder includes a 10x optical 240x digital zoom.
