Pansonic Ships Two Professional DVD Recorders

Panasonic has announced two DVD recorders capable of recording progressive video. The boxes can record on 9.4 GB DVD-R discs. The higher model includes a 40GB hard drive for recording 52 hours of video.

The units can be programmed to record a specific event at a specific time. They include IEEE Fire Wire port for transferring video from a camcorder to the unit. Panasonic also says that the units can be used for DVD duplication.

The higher model, the DMR-T3040 which includes the 40GB hard drive has an MSRP of $1,040. The DMR-T3030 carries an MSRP of $735. Both units are available immediately.
