Pinnacle Systems made public an order from Qatar-based news source Al-Jazeera. The network has order a series of graphics systems to support a new documentary channel scheduled for a 2004 launch. The newly ordered Pinnacle Systems Deko character generators and Thunder clip/still servers will be used to standardize graphics across broadcasts.

’’We have been using Pinnacle Systems' equipment for a couple of years and have been impressed by the open architecture that the products offer. Previous investments in Deko and Thunder solutions have allowed us to create uniformity in broadcast graphics across our programming. Coupled with their ability to seamlessly integrate into our network environment, the decision to standardize was straightforward,’’ said Hussein Jaafar, Technical Director, Al Jazeera Television.

The Al Jazeera order includes four Deko 1000 character generators, a Thunder XL clip server, and one FXDeko II character generator with DekoObjex to deliver multiple simultaneous information graphics using a single character generator. The new order adds to an existing Pinnacle product list that consists of a DekoCast, FXDekoII, and several Deko2200s.
