Last week at the National Association of Broadcasters convention 2003, Pinnacle Systems announced that CinéWave 4 will work with Apple's new Final Cut Pro 4 editing software to extend its abilities. Pinnacle says it will be so tightly integrated with Final Cut Pro 4 that it delivery of a great range of new real-time, all-the-time online and offline editing features.
CinéWave 4 will incorporate many new features including expanded real-time effects in all popular formats, greater HD support, film support, and increased audio capabilities.
Pinnacle says CineWave 4 be able to support real-time capture from both SD and HD sources at industry leading frame rates (23.976, 24, 25, 29.97 and 30) into popular offline formats PhotoJPEG (4:3 and 16:9) and DV (4:3 and 16:9) as well as CinéOffline, support real-time effects for DV, PhotoJPEG, 8, 10 and 16-bit uncompressed sources in the same timeline while maintaining video out, do real-time keyframeable time remap for slow motion and fast motion effects, keyframeable real-time embedded moving alpha and has complimentary support for Final Cut Pro 4's new multi-stream real-time effects.
But one big thing to rave about is the new high-precision 32-bit floating-point rendering with Final Cut Pro 4's HDR Image Processing and which they say will have support for ‘’Trillions of Colors’’ RGBA rendering with Adobe After Effects.
Other modifications include real-time reverse telecine from 30 or 29.97 FPS video on capture to 24 and 23.976 FPS footage in both HD and SD formats to compliment existing real-time pull-down that restores 30 and 29.97 FPS output for tape in uncompressed SD and HD, as well as DV, PhotoJPEG and CinéOffline formats, support for real-time effects in 24 (or 23.976) FPS Standard Definition and real-time HD (16:9) Pan and Scan downconvert with keyframeable controls to uncompressed SD (4:3) with simultaneous live SD and HD outputs.
CinéWave now has a new suggested retail price of US $3,995. CinéWave 4 upgrades will be available in Summer 2003 for US $299 suggested retail price.
