Pioneer Electronics Inc. recently announced that the DVR-A07, a super-fast, internal dual-format DVD/CD writer, will be available to consumers in December. Pioneer has enhanced writing reliability and read compatibility, so content can be viewed trouble-free on other DVD-ROM drives, DVD players and DVD recorders. The DVR-A07 is capable of writing at speeds up to 8x on DVD+R/-R discs, or speeds of 4x on DVD-RW/+RW discs. This multi-format ability should prevent returns, as a result of the incompatibility of burner and disc.
''The DVR-A07 will save users valuable time by writing DVD and CD discs as fast as recordable DVD technology allows at this point. It also lets users focus on writing DVDs instead of worrying about which disc format they need to buy,'' said Andy Parsons, senior vice president of industrial video and mass storage sales and marketing at Pioneer.
Pioneer’s engineers focused on the technology of writing/recording quality and reliability, by accommodating for variances in blank media. A smart laser driver and precision recording technology, enable recording under optimal conditions for each type and brand of DVD disc. An ultra dynamic resonance absorber and precision servo system will reduce vibrations that affect high-speed recording and playback.
The DVR-A07 will be sold with software for video authoring, editing, DVD slide show creation, and data recording.
