Plextor Announces New Dual Interface DVD Drive

Boasting both USB 2.0 and Firewire™ interfaces, Plextor unveiled its new PX-504UF DVD +R/+RW drive.

The drive features what Plextor calls ''Lossless-linking technology'' which the company says will allow users to edit directly on the DVD. It also features burst data rates of up to 5.5 megabytes per second, burning a 4.7 gigabyte drive in less than 15 minutes.

The drive comes bundled with programs from Roxio, including Easy CD Creator 5.3 DVD Edition, PhotoSuite 5 SE, and Toast 5 Lite for Mac.

Designed to work with both Macs and PCs, Plextor’s dual interface drive will be available June, 2003 at an MSRP of $329 (U.S.), and will be available through Plextor authorized resellers, including Best Buy.
