QuickTime 6.3 is available for download from www.apple.com. This latest version of QuickTime for Mac and Windows features support for the 3rd Generation Partnership Project standard for the ''creation, delivery and playback of rich multimedia content over wireless networks.'' This means you can now create and deliver QuickTime-based content to cell phones and PDAs.

With the addition of an MPEG-2 Playback Component, QuickTime 6.x can now import and playback MPEG-2 files. These same MPEG-2 files can also be converted to a number of other video formats, including MPEG-4, QuickTime Movie, or DV Stream, to name a few.

QuickTime 6.3 is available as a free download; the MPEG-2 component is available as an add-on for $19.99 (U.S.) Users may opt to upgrade to QuickTime 6.3 Pro for $29.99 (U.S.)
