No one in this nation will ever forget September 11th 2001, one of the darkest days in our nation’s history. The people who lost a friend or family member on September 11th 2001, had someone stolen from them in an terrible act of terror. Although the thousands who died on September 11th, both in New York and in Washington D.C. have left us physically, we will never forget them. We will always have beautiful memories of those who we lost.
We live in a new era where we are able to affordably capture our entire lives in pictures and video. Video had an astounding effect on the events of September 11th and how we will remember that day. Television networks were able to deliver images of the devastation in progress to the entire world, but even the small independent videographer and consumer contributed to our evidence of the day’s events. Camcorders have filtered through to all elements of society and are penetrating all different markets. There are so many camcorders in the hands of people throughout this world that by sheer coincidence there was a videographer on the streets near the World Trade Centers who was able to capture the first plane hitting the World Trade Center with only a few seconds warning.
September 11th also reminds us of the reasons why we have camcorders. We put tons of energy into achieving the best quality, having the most features, or getting the best deal but often we forget that in the end it’s all to record memories. If we lived a century ago, most people would not own a single picture of their close family members. Yet today, innovations in bringing cheaper technology to more people means that everyone has a method of recording memories for a lifetime. It is likely that there is at least one videotape or a picture of every person who died on September 11th. You never know when you will loose a loved one, so make sure to capture every special moment you can.
We at Camcorderinfo.com would like to extend our deepest condolences to those who lost a friend or family member on September 11th, 2001. We are mourning with you and the rest of the nation.
