Shining Technology Announces CitiDISK DV at Mac World Expo NY

Shining Technology announced CitiDisk DV at Mac World Expo NY today. CitiDisk DV allows for direct recording of FireWire video to an included portable hard disk.

The CitiDisk includes either a 20GB or 40GB shock resistant hard drive which the DV video is recorded to in real time. To record DV video, the user plugs the CitiDisk unit into the FireWire port on their camcorder and hits record on the CitiDisk unit. To edit the video on a computer, the CitiDisk unit can simply be plugged into the FireWire port on a computer where it appears as a external hard drive.

The unit includes a format button to completely erase the contents of the disk. The 20GB model is available now for $499 and the 40GB model is also available now for $649.
