The DCR-PC10 is a MiniDV camcorder with a MSRP of $2899. The camcorder has a 12x optical zoom and a 150x digital zoom. The video camera has the matchbox shape of the earliest digital camcorders. It is a thin but tall camcorder with a small shape. The camcorders in matchbox form are easy to carry but are hard to control. Most videos filmed with this type of camcorder result in a shaky picture. The camcorder does, however, have a FireWire port, which allows for good digital copies and digital editing.

I found this camcorder to have some great features. If you are looking for a good camcorder that is compact and conveniently portable, this one serves the purpose. However, its matchbox form creates difficulty while shooting quality still video. It is not a great camcorder for advanced users. Sony does have newer matchbox models, like the PC5, that are higher quality and provide better still video.
