Canon has released two new Hi8 Camocrders that break the $300 barrier. Canon says that the camcorders will bring home video to a wider audience who couldn't afford expensive camcorders before. The two new models are the ES8400V and ES75.
The ES75V is priced at $299. The camcorder has a 22x optical, 400x digital zoom. A built on video light and the custom keys so the user can assign specific functions to certain buttons.
The ES8400V has the same features as the ES75 but it also includes a 2.5 in. LCD screen. The camcorder also has image stabilization and a photo mode for capturing still images on to tape.
The camcorders will be availble in February for the prices mentioned above.
